Carpet spots and stains- How to remove

Spotting guide

Supplies needed-

Spotting Kit, or spotting solution,

Gum tool, clean rags, spotting extractor, carpet brush- small hand size,
hot Steam Iron (for removing colored stains, or rust..),

white clean linen sheet.

1: Try to find out what caused spots.

2: Get the right solution for the spots that you will be working with.

Note: Check with your local distributor for right solution that

you need for the job.

Note: The best time to remove spots is when it happens or

as soon as you see the spots or stains (difference between spots or stains: Spots refer to fresh carpet stains. Stains are spots after 12 hours later).

Gum

1: Use gum removal solution (aerosol or jell type) and follow the directions of the manufacturer.

Apply solution over the gum and let it sit for a few minutes until

the gum becomes soft enough to work with the gum tool.

2: Use the gum tool by gently working it inward to soften and remove.

Do not move the gum all over, it will spread over the wide

area of the carpet.

3: When most of the gum is removed, gently scrub with a clean towel

trying to get the leftovers off the carpet as much as possible.

Note: The cleaned spot might be a lighter colored than the

surrounding area. This will even out when the whole area of the

carpet has been cleaned.

Or try the aerosol gum remover- It freezes the gum to a hard

piece and needs to be peeled off with the gum tool.

Red color or other color stains

1: Use Red stain remover or Magic Stain Remover and follow the directions

by the manufacturer and let it sit for few minutes.

2: Gently scrub inwards to agitate within a small area to avoid spreading out.

Scrub with a clean rag, or carpet brush.

Blot the spot out with the clean white rag.

3: Repeat until all color is completely removed.

4: If color does not disappear totally, soak the affected area

with a solution and lay a clean white sheet of linen over it.

Heat the steam iron with the water in it.

Make it medium hot to start and increase it as needed.

Make sure to use hot stem to continue to wet the carpet.

You will see color transferring to the clean white linen.
